Five people have been presumed dead in fatal accident that occurred at Kara Junction along Lagos- Ibadan express way.

The accident, which occurred around 2:46 pm, involved a white truck marked APP397YA and a Mazda white bus with the registration number EPE575XA.

Witnesses, who told journalists that both vehicles were inbound Lagos, explained that the truck was trying to make u-turn at Danliti, when the Mazda bus, which was coming from behind rammed into the truck.

They claimed that reckless driving, fatigue and loss of control on the part of the bus led to the accident.

The witnesses said five people out of the nineteen people involved in the accident were presumed dead.

The Ogun Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Mr Umar Ahmed and spokesman of the state’s Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the accident in statement in Abeokuta.

The traffic managers said the injured victims had been taken to a nearby hospital in Sagamu for medical attention while the corpses had been deposited at a private mortuary.

They advised the motoring public to drive with all sense of responsibility and caution, obey traffic rules and regulations and avoid excessive speed.
