Ogun State House of Assembly through its Committee on Transportation has engaged the leadership teams of the State Ministry of Transportation as well as Parks and Garages Development Agency, PAGADA, with a challenge to the ministry to take full control of the activities in the sector.
The committee led by its chairman, Mr. Oludaisi Elemide during the interactive session challenged the agency as a matter of law to operate under the supervision of the Ministry of Transportation.
Mr Elemide, who noted that the interactive sessions was to ensure orderliness and sanity in the transportation sector, directed that appropriate sanction must be carried out to erring officer, who violated the directives of the ministry on the purported inauguration of Riders and Owners of Tricycle Organization.
Earlier, the Assembly had declared the inauguration of Riders and Owners of Tricycle Organisation, ROTO, a purported third tricycle union in the state, null and void.
The assembly made the declaration while adopting its preliminary report on the activities of the Parks and Garages Development Agency ,PAGADA, describing the inauguration as an aberration to the law establishing it, saying such action remained strange to the policies and guidelines of the State Ministry of Transportation.
