The long arm of the law has caught up with forty-eight suspected criminals who have been terrorizing the people of Ibadan and its environs.

The suspects were arrested for various offences ranging from kidnapping, rape, armed robbery and other related criminal offences.

One of the suspects, a fifty six year old legal practitioner, Remi Oladiti who was arrested for drugging and defiling a fourteen year old girl confessed to the crime but said it was a mutual relationship between them.

Another one, Jinjbti Nimtim who was arrested for kidnapping and the killing of his boss said he dispossessed the deceased of his money and mobile phone and sold it his friend.

Other paraded suspects confessed to the charges levelled against them and pleaded for leniency.

Parading the suspects, Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mrs Ngozi Onadeko said the command’s efforts had yielded tremendously as all the arrested suspects were captured.

Mrs Onadeko said with the support of gallant officers and unbiased collaboration form members of the public, as well as a synergy from other sister agencies, Oyo State would be totally crime free.

Mrs Onadeko said part of those paraded were some hoodlums who were involved in looting police stations during ENDSARS protest.

The commissioner added that all the suspects would soon charge to court after proper investigations. 

Exhibits found with the suspects included some arms and ammunition, some stolen households materials, different types of mobile phones, and about five hundred thousand naira cash.
