NSCDC Solicits Community Support To Tackle Crime
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Commandant in Oyo State, Mr. Iskilu Akinsanya has called on community leaders to always speak out whenever they sensed criminality in their domains for quick interventions.
Commandant Akinsanya stated this while parading a suspect for allegedly launched attack on Fulani settlement in Ogbomosho area of Oyo state.
According to the State Commandant, Miyetti Allah Chairman in Ogbomosho, Mr. Muhammad Mahmud informed the Corps that, there was an attacked at the Fulanis settlement in Idigba Olomi, ogbomosho, by some hoodlums numbering about six.
He noted that the Agro Ranger of the command in Ogbomosho /Oyo Axis swung into action and arrested a suspect, Tajudeen Sheu in a Vigilante group of Nigeria, VGN uniform.
The suspect, Tajudeen confessed that he was attacked by unknown person in the night and that was why he reinforced his five other team member who were at large for the attack.
Mr. Akinsanya said seven victims were brutally attacked with machetes and have been taken to hospital.
Commandant Akinsanya therefore warned members of the public not to take law into their hands but to report any incident to security agencies for legal action.
He added that the suspect will soon be charge to Court after investigations.
