OAU Staff Commits Suicide after Notifying Family

A staff of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, identified as Fisayo Oyeniyi has committed suicide in his residence.

Report indicates that Oyeniyi, who was one of the armed guards in the security department, sent a suicide note to his mother, wife and children informing them that he was fed up of life, before hanging himself in his house at Ifewara road, Ile-Ife.

According to the report the decreased has been buried in line with the Yoruba tradition 

The public relation officer of the institution, Mr Abiodun Olarewaju, confirmed the incident, saying Mr Oyeniyi left office after he sent a suicide text to his family

All efforts to speak with the police as at the time of filing this report failed.
