National Sports Festival: Host Ends Activities Abruptly For Lack Of Funds

The Local Organising Committee, National Sports Festival tagged Edo2020 has announced that it will end the games abruptly on Thursday, April 8, 2021 for lack of funds.

According to a statement released by the Project Manager, Media & Communications, Edo 2020 Mr Ebomhiana Musa, the decision followed an emergency meeting held on Wednesday evening.

Mr Musa said the LOC has to take the hard decision due to lack of funds having expended its reserves to kick start the games.

He further stated that the Federal government is yet to redeem its pledge to support Edo state as the host state financially for the cost of postponements.

He said the LOC was left with no option than to end the games at noon on Thursday, 8th April.
