The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to convoke a national youth summit that will serve as an avenue of addressing some of the agitations and concerns of the youths in the country.

Already, the PFN, is evolving a mechanism towards empowering and giving political education to the youths through massive mobilization across the 774 local governments in the country.

 PFN President Bishop Francis Wale Oke, who made the call on Thursday, in a statement from his Media office, said the last year’s ENDSARS protest embarked upon by the youths across the nation, should serve as a wake up call for the government to find a way of mitigating the pressure they are going through.

“The youths of this country are in pains and agony; the system is not taking care of them and in their desperate bid to seek greener pastures, many of them are dying across the Atlantic Ocean while our young girls are serving as sex slaves across Europe”.

To this end, the cleric who is also the Presiding Bishop of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Ibadan, urged President Buhari to organize a parley with the youth so as to stem the current restiveness prevalent amongst them.

“President Buhari should invite the youth to a round-table conference; sit with them, discuss with them.” he further counselled.

At the PFN level, Bishop said the youth in the country would be reached through one of the 7-points agenda of his administration as the body’s President tagged; Youths on Fire Agenda.

The PFN President said though the body was not for any party, it would however, mobilize its members to register and vote massively at the forthcoming 2023 election.

“At the 2023 elections, we shall show the bad political leaders, the way out. We are not partisan but we are for national development. We want to end politics of opportunism. At PFN, we shall use our numerical strength to deliver Nigeria. We are for good governance” He said

Meanwhile, Bishop Oke implored Nigerians to remain united, saying that in unity, the nation would progress;

“If we continue the way we are now, this country will break apart. War does no one any good. We must strive to ensure that Nigeria remains indivisible through prayers and sincerity of purpose”
