Nigeria Police, Oyo State Command has begun search and arrest operation at Idi Ayunre forest, Oluyole Local Government, where three people were recently kidnapped.

The operation, which was led by assistant Commissioner of police in charge of operations, Mr Gbenga Ojo was supported by the men of Amotekun, hunters association and Vigilante Group of Nigeria.

The team combed the forest at idi Ayunre which linked Oyo and Ogun states for several hours hoping to find the kidnappers and their victims.

The team leader, ACP Ojo said the search operations became imperative as the rate of kidnapping was high on Ibadan-Ijebu road.

Mr Ojo noted that this made the Command to partner the local security operatives as they were more familiar with the terrain.

He said though no arrests was made yet but the Command would do all it could to ensure that the issue of kidnapping and other criminalities became a thing of the past.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police called on members of the public to also partner the police in bringing down the spate of kidnapping by reporting suspicious characters or movement for quick intervention.

Mr Ojo therefore advised people who are fond of night traveling to exercise caution in other not to fall victim of kidnapping, especially during the period.

It would be recalled that three people were kidnapped at Idi Ayunre in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State three days ago and are still in the captivity of the suspected kidnappers.
