Commissioner of Police in Oyo state, Mrs Ngozi Onadeko has met with some stakeholders at Idi-Ayunre Divisional Police Headquarters, over the lingering kidnappings in the area.

The meeting had in attendance; Community heads, Religious leaders, Social workers, Government representatives, County hunters, Local vigilantes and Law Enforcement Agents.

The Commissioner noted that the agenda  of the meeting was to involve  all participants in proffering meaningful solutions to ending the unfortunate abductions and as well as solicit partnership with the Police in Intelligence sharing.

The CP also promised a geometric increase in the deployment of tactical and intelligence assets to the jurisdiction and appealed for provision of credible and timely information.

Reacting, the participants at the meeting promised to always reach out to the police whenever they notice any unusual movements or characters in their community for quick intervention. 

While reiterating  their unflinching support to the officers and Men of the Command, the community stakeholders also showered encomium on the Police for the recent strings of breakthroughs recorded concerning the released abductees.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police,  Mrs Ngozi Onadeko also paraded two suspected cultists who have been terrorizing the people of ibadan and its environs. 

The duo,  Sunday Victor and Samson Suarez who were apprehended around Bodija Oju-Irin Area of Ibadan confessed to have been members of “Aiye Confraternity and also belonged to an armed robbery syndicate.

The Commissioner said the arrest of the suspects was  made possible through the effort of gallant officers of the Command during a Stop and Search Operations in the area.

While deploying tactical and intelligence security apparatus to further strengthen the already existing security architecture of the Command, the Commissioner urged members of the public to be uneconomical with supporting the police as regards sharing of timely and credible information which could be instrumental to the birthing of a crime- free State enjoyable by all and sundry.

Mrs Onadeko added that investigation is still ongoing to apprehend others still at large. 

Upon the arrest, the suspects were found in possession of One Single barrel locally made pistol,  A locally made Double barrel pistol, Four live cartridges, An English Axe,  Three mobile phones and A black mask.
