As part of activities marking this year’s children’s day, federal Road safety Corps, FRSC has involved over five hundred pupils in training on road safety tips to avoid being a victim of road mishaps.
Frsc oyo state sector commander, Mrs Uche Chukwurah stated this at Road safety maiden children’s day celebration, at its headquarters Eleyele Ibadan.
Mrs Chukwurah said the program became imperative for the corps to catch the children young by impacting knowledge and tips of road safeties .
She noted that road crashes are the second leading cause of death for children and young adults under the age of five to twenty nine.
Mrs Chukwurah noted further that the training would go a long way at creating a solid and great future leaders.
The children who were seen running around and riding bicycles at the parade groud of FRSC said they were happy to be at the event and appreciated the efforts of the command at ensuring that they involved them in the training.
The children therefore called for more support from government, groups and Individuals to assist them in attaining a better place in future.
