A traditional ruler, the Olu of Lisa in Ifo local government area of Ogun State, Oba Najeemdeen Odugbemi wants people with health challenges to shun self medication and quacks but to seek the service of medical experts.
Oba Odugbemi made the call when he donated some medical equipment to the Community’s Health Centre through his pet project, Oladele Odugbemi Foundation, OOF.
The traditional ruler explained that the gesture was part of the efforts to assist the less privileged and meet the health needs of people in the community.
Oba Odugbemi said the donation was also aimed at promoting even development in the area to support the state government’s efforts towards ensuring the wellbeing of the people.
In separate remarks, the Amona Of Lisa village, Chief Adeyinka Adefunmiloye as well as the Tayese of the village and Chairman, Ifelodun Community, Chief Wale Akinsola applauded the monarch for his commitment to the provision of infrastructure, including the community health centre, a market, a school, a station for the security outfit, So Safe Corps and a mosque.
The community leaders appealed to philanthropists and corporate organizations to emulate the kind gestures and urged the government to provide succour to residents by rehabilitating the community’s deplorable road.
Responding, the Principal Nursing Officer, Oyero/Ososun ward, Mrs Adeosun Abosede, who received the medical equipment appreciated the donor for the facilities, noting that the items would enhance healthcare service delivery, especially in the preservation of vaccines.
