A member of the House of Representatives representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, Oyo State, Shina Peller has decribed the death of a famous Nigerian artise, Olanrewaju Fasasi aka Sound Sultan, as a painful and great loss to the entire Africa as a continent.

Peller stated this in a statement issued by his media office, Kola Popoola, where the federal legislator said the late artiste, who hailed from his town, Iseyin, was a person with a golden heart.

“It is with a very heavy heart that I mourn the death of my darling brother – a multi-talented artiste, Olanrewaju Fasasi popularly known as Sound Sultan, who passed on Sunday due to a health challenge he had been battling with. Aside the fact that we both hail from the same town, Iseyin, Sound Sultan was someone with a golden heart with high level of humility and integrity; he was a wonderful being.

“I remember Sound Sultan was a panelist at the official unveiling/leadership symposium of Lead Generation Initiative (LGI) held in Abuja on 21st January this year. Interestingly, he spoke very brilliantly and convincingly discussing the topic, “The Future of Leadership: The Role of the Youth,” with other panelists. I remember I told him to come back home to Iseyin and join me in politics in the interest of our people.

“His death remains shocking and a great loss to Iseyin, Oyo State, Nigeria and Africa as a whole. May God forgive his shortcomings and give the loved ones he has left behind the fortitude to bear his loss”.

The family, in a statement, said Sound Sultan died on Sunday of Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma at the age of 44.
