Oyo state government through the ministry of health will next month begin the distribution of over five million insecticide treated net to households across all local governments in the state.
Deputy Director Public Health, Ministry of Health, Dr. Olubunmi Ayinde who made this known at a media parley in ibadan said the exercise is in partnership with federal ministry of health and United state government through USAID.
Dr. Ayinde said the exercise is expected to begin on the 18th of next month after the distribution of mosquito net cards holding between 30th of July to August 7th which will serve as authorization to get the insecticide treated net.
Dr. Ayinde who explained that house mobilizers would only distribute the net cards and insecticide treated net to households, urged residents to make themselves available in their residences.
Also speaking, representative of Breakthrough action, an intermediary NGO between USAID and the state government, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Afachung said the last exercise was done in 2016 with over four million insecticide treated net distributed.
Mrs. Afachung however urged the media to continue to inform the people on benefit of insecticide treated net.
