Oyo State Government will continue to give priority to education by ensuring schools are adequately staffed and monitored.

Chairman, Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM, Oyo State, Pastor Akinade Alamu stated this in ibadan an interview with Radio Nigeria.

Pastor Alamu explained that recent recruitment of teachers was an indication of the purposeful agenda of the government to give education a pride of place in Oyo State.

The TESCOM boss said further that the Commission had maintained its oversight of personnel in secondary schools across the state, and had also put measures in place to check truancy among students through the constitution of schools board and collaboration with parents associations.

Pastor Alamu added that the steps taken by TESCOM was yielding fruits going by performance of students in the state in examinations conducted by West African Senior School Certificate, WASSCE and National Examination Council, NECO.
