Nigerian road users have been advised to play their part in maintaining roads to ensure motorable and durable roads across the country.

A guest lecturer at a One Day Critical Stakeholders Workshop organized by the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA, Mr Akinjide Sodiq gave the advice in Ibadan.

Mr Sodiq pointed out the need for road users to desist from blaming government for road repairs, called for collective action to ensure longer lifespan for roads.

Mr Sodiq also called on traders to stop display of wares and littering of highways to prevent road damage and damages.

The Oyo State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Mrs Uche Chukwura represented by the Assistant Corps Commander, Operations, Mr Joseph Ojerinde sought stakeholders collaboration to prevent crashes.

The Secretary, Oyo State Joint Meeting of Park Management System, Mr Rotimi Oladeji said drivers are partners in progress, promised continuous support to FERMA, while urging the agency to always address complaints of bad roads promptly.

Highlights of the workshop was award presentations to stakeholders including the guest lecturer, Mr Akinjide Sodiq, the PMS, NARTO and FRSC.
