As the 2020 Paralympics games get underway at the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo, Japan, the Federal Government has assured the Nigerian athletes of prompt payment of their bonuses.

Addressing the athletes and officials on Monday at the Team Nigeria Games Village, Tokyo, the Permanent Secretary, ministry of Youth and Sports, Nebelisa Anako, who encouraged the athletes to put in their efforts, said the government would pay their bonuses according to the level of performance by each athletes.

He further disclosed that there would be no disparity in the bonuses paid the able bodied athletes and the special athletes.

Reacting, the Team Captain, Lucy Ejike commended the ministry for the training and their welfare, and promised that the athletes were prepared and ready for the games.

Meanwhile, President of Nigeria Paralympic federation, Ruel Ishaku has promised to deliver the best African performance at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

While speaking with newsmen on monday ahead of the games, Ishaku said they are prepared to win gold and create a new record in their various events.
