Oyo State government has urged the technical desk officers across its local government areas and LCDAs to focus on projecting development in their councils by mainstreaming the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, into their development plans.

The Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Sustainable Development Goals SDGs, Mr. Kunle Yusuf said this at a capacity building workshop organized by the Oyo State government for desk officers in the thirty-three Local Government Areas and thirty-five Local Council Development Areas of the state. 

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Yusuf said the training for policy drivers in its various councils was necessary to ensure the councils keyed into the four pillars of development of the state.

While urging the participants to always promote development in their councils the SSA noted that when technical officers were trained, they properly support politicians to drive needed development.

Declaring the workshop open, Chief of staff to the Governor, Mr. Segun Ogunwuyi represented by his deputy, Mr. Abdul-Mojeed Mogbojubola, said one of the objectives of the workshop was to train personnel at the grassroots to engender increased productivity.

Representatives of the council chairmen, presented their goodwill messages at the workshop, urging the participants to utilize the knowledge at the workshop to develop their various councils.
