Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has commended leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state for the peaceful conduct of the local government congresses of the party.

Governor Abiodun, who gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen in Ikenne, described the turn-out of the party faithful as impressive.

While expressing satisfaction over the consensus approach in electing a 27-man executive committee in each of the 20 local government areas in the state, Governor Abiodun noted that the approach would further entrench internal democracy in the party.

He also commended Chairman of the state Congress Committee Mr. Wale Ohu-led for ensuring a rancour free exercise in the state, and said that the Party would continue to welcome members from other parties.

Governor Abiodun, who noted that the recent local government election in the state had been adjudged as the most transparent, gave the assurance that his administration would continue to deliver on its electioneering promises.

Meanwhile, Reactions have continued to trail parallel congresses of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun state.

The congresses held at various venues in all the twenty local government areas between the factions loyal to immediate past governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and the incumbent governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun came up with different results.

While the six man committee sent to conduct the congress in Ogun state by the party led by Chief Wale Ohu said the congresses substantially complied with the dictates of the party’s constitution to promote internal democracy noting that the results provided by his committee would be accepted by the party.

Tolu Odebiyi and other loyalists to the Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s faction in Ogun state have continued to assured their followers that they are on the right path.
