Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network codenamed “Amotekun Corps” have rescued nine of the twelve passengers kidnapped by some gunmen in the state on Ifira Akoko-Idoani road.

Radio Nigeria had reported on Thursday morning how the victims, who were passengers heading from Abuja to Lagos in an 18-seater bus, were attacked on Wednesday by the armed men along Ifira Akoko-Idoani road in the state.

Speaking with Radio Nigeria via the telephone, the Corps Commander of Amotekun Corps in Osun State, Chief Adetunji Adeleye said the victims were rescued after his men responded to a distress call from concerned citizens from the area.

Chief Adeleye said his men are still in the forest to rescue the remaining travelers, adding that nobody had been arrested in connection with the crimes.
