The remains of the father of the Ogun State Governor, Pa Emmanuel Abiodun have been laid to rest on the premises of Saint James Anglican Church, Iperu Remo, in Ikenne Local Government area of the state.

Delivering a sermon at the funeral Service, the Bishop of Remo Diocese, Anglican Communion the Most Reverend Olusina Fape called on religious and political leaders to always use their positions to put smiles on the faces of the populace.

Bishop Fape who described heaven as a prepared place said the only way to make heaven was to be of good behaviour and urged leaders to live impactful life that would make people to remember them after their sojourn on earth.

While noting that death is inevitable, the Bishop also urged Christians to be prepared and live in anticipation of the second coming of Jesus Christ.

The religious leader said that the deceased was a devout Christian who dedicated his life to the service of God and humanity during his lifetime.

In a remark, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo also described the deceased as a great teacher who rendered selfless service to humanity and gave back to society through his teaching profession.

The eldest son of the deceased, Governor Dapo Abiodun, said his father was a loving father and caring husband who inculcated moral values in his children.

The Governors of Ekiti, Dr. Kayode fayemi, Lagos, Babajide Sanwoolu, Ondo, Rotimi Akeredolu, as well as Former Governors of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, and Senator Ibikunle Amosu were among the dignitaries present at the occasion.
