Youths in Oyo State have been advised to begin active participation in politics by joining a political party and obtaining their Permanent Voter’s Cards, PVCs.
Oyo State chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Mr. Abdulsalam Olusegun gave the advice in a welcome address at a day PVC sensitization programme organized for youths in the state.
Mr. Olusegun who descried the low participation of youths in political process, said the present generation must get involved to effect the change they desire.
The NYCN state chairman advocated price reduction on expression of interest forms for every prospective youth aspirants for any political post to encourage more youths in politics.
In a goodwill message, Oyo State Director, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mrs. Foluke Ayoola, represented by an Assistant Director in the agency, Prince Sola Sanda, urged youths to show readiness to take leadership responsibilities.
Mrs. Ayoola appealed to them to shun all social vices and avoid being used as political thugs.
The sensitization programme was attended by representative from the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development and the Special Adviser to the governor on Youth and Sports, Mr. Kazeem Bolarinwa. Mosope Kehinde
