Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has announced the extension of the Women Empowerment Skills Acquisition Program, WESAP, in the state to continue next year.

Governor Okowa pronounced the 2022 extension of the scheme during the closing ceremony of the project and the unveiling of business start-up packs for the 2021 beneficiaries.

The governor who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Ovie Agas, urged the women be good ambassadors of the initiative.

Also, the state Commissioner for Women Affairs, community and Social Development Mrs. Flora Alatan, said two hundred and twenty seven women participated in the program and acquired skills in trades like confectionaries, event management, and makeover.

Highpoint of the event was the inspection and presentation of the business startup parks to the beneficiaries by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
