The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mr Alikali Usman has posted, Mr Lanre Bankole as the new Commissioner of Police in Ogun state.

Mr Bankole’s posting followed the retirement from service of the former Commissioner of Police in Ogun State Police Command, Mr Edward Ajogun.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi said in a statement that the new Commissioner of Police had served as Area Commander Shagamu, a divisional police officer in Abigi, Sango, Agbara and owode Egba as well as zonal sports officer.

Mr Oyeyemi who explained that Mr Bankole hailed from Lagos island local government area of Lagos State said he joined the Nigeria Police as a cadet assistant superintendent of police in March 1990.

He said Mr Bankole got promoted to the rank of commissioner of police in June 2021 and was posted as CP Interpol Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Alagbon Lagos, where he served until his current appointment as the new commissioner of police Ogun State Command.
