The wife of Ekiti State Governor Erelu Bisi Fayemi says access to the quick dispensation of Justice remains one of the means of fulfilling a social contract between the government and its citizens.

Erelu Fayemi announced this while inaugurating a  Citizen Complaints Center Located at Oba’s market (Oja Oba) in Ado Ekiti.

She explained that such an initiative was a creative idea to ensure global best practices and bring justice nearer to the people.

While appreciating the ministry of Justice for efforts put in place on the center, the Governor’s wife urged market women and men to make judicious use of the initiative to lodge complaints.

Earlier, Ekiti State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Wale Fapohunda noted that the center would always be ready to attend to all complaints which might include molestation of innocent citizens by the police, infringement on individuals’ rights by government agents, and other civil or criminal cases.

Mr. Fapohunda who gave assurance that competent legal services would be provided at the center reiterated the present administration’s commitment to the protection of human rights most especially women, underaged, and other vulnerable groups.

In a remark, an official of the Ministry of Justice, Mr. Oluwatayo Fabusuyi added that the vision of the initiative was to upgrade Justice for the betterment of society.

The inauguration was attended by the speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr. Funminiyi Afuye, Chairperson Ado Local Government, Mrs. Motunde Fajuyi among other important dignitaries.
