Two hundred and thirty athletes and officials are expected to depart Ogun State today for 6th Edition of  Edition of the National Youth Games in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital.

The Public Relations Officer, Ogun state Sports Council, Mrs Bola Giwa confirmed this to Radio Nigeria in Abeokuta.

Mrs Giwa said the athletes would take part in twenty two games including Ayo, Badminton, Boxing, Chess, Cycling, Darts, Gymnastics, Judo, Karate, Deaf Athletics, Para Table Tennis and Scrabble.

Other games are Shooting, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Basketball,  Golf and Squash.

She noted that Wrestling and Kungfu were added to the games after much deliberation by the Management Members of Ogun Sports council.

Speaking with Radio Nigeria, Cycling Coach, Amao Kamoli said the athletes would not disappoint the state considering the level of preparations for the games.

Coach Kamoli noted that the athletes had been motivated for the competition.
