The chairman Nigeria governors forum and the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi says the task of tackling insecurity requires strategy on intelligence than the use of conventional military warfare tactics .

Governor fayemi said this during the annual birthday of Special Adviser on strategy and political matters to the Oyo state governor, Babatunde Oduyoye held at the International conference center, University of Ibadan.

Delivering a lectue entitled: Security and National Unity in Difficulties Times, Fayemi noted that if federal government is to tackle the security challenges confronting the country, it must be prepared to declare bandits, terrorists and kidnappers as criminals regardless of their geographical region.

The chairman Nigeria governors forum added that the south-west governor’s would synergy to gather intelligence that would be of benefits in stemming the tide of criminality and brigandage in the region.

In his address, the Co- chairman of the event, former senate president, Adolphus Wabara said the federal government government needed the decentralization of the over-centralized security apparatus.

Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde describe Mr Babatunde Oduyoye, as a unifier who always demonstrate commitment to any course he believed in to the point of success.
