Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of three residents of the Obada-Oko Area of Abeokuta, the state capital.

The Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi while speaking in Abeokuta said one suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The police spokesman said the arrested suspect was a member of the kidnap gang and would not be released.

Mr. Oyeyemi said investigation have commenced noting that the kidnappers would soon be arrested.

It was reported that gunmen had kidnapped three residents of the Obada-Oko area of Abeokuta demanding ten million naira ransom.

One of the residents of the area who escaped from the kidnappers, Mr. Razaq Lasisi said he narrowly escaped from the kidnappers.

The former secondary school principal said he was accosted on his way home from his place of work around nine pm and that he was shot when he struggled not to go with them.
