Ogun State Muslim Council, OMC, has implored media owners and employers to implement compulsory life insurance policy for practitioners in the industry in the bid to enhance objective and truthful journalism in the nation.

Secretary-General of the Council, Alhaji Kamaldeen Akintunde made the appeal in his condolence message to Ogun state council of NUJ and the apex body over the death of Mr Soji Amosu and a vanguard Reporter, Tordue Henry Salem.

Alhaji Akintunde described the circumstances surrounding the death of the National Assembly Reporter as well as the risks involved in the media profession as a call for concern.

He said both members of the fourth estate of the realm passed on at a time media reportage was making a credible impact in the development of the human race.

The OMC Secretary-General applauded the duo for contributing their quota to the development and advancement of the Press as watchdogs of the society.

Alhaji Akintunde also appealed to Ogun NUJ members to resolve their differences amicably for a united and formidable Union as a mark of last respect to their departed colleague.

He said such a display of understanding and maturity would promote and guarantee a rancour-free practice of their journalistic profession.
