The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar has identified justice as essential for development calling on Nigerian leaders to be just in their undertakings.

He stated this in Iseyin, Oyo State at the inauguration of Ayisat Aweni Raji Memorial Islamic Centre built by Barrister Ahmed Raji, SAN.

Alhaji Abubakar emphasized that justice is the bedrock of development stressing that leaders must ensure fairness at all times as this would build trust in their followers.

The Sultan of Sokoto explained that like other countries, Nigeria is facing different challenges and urged the people to be prayerful and optimistic that the country will soon bounce back.

In a remark, Oyo State Deputy Governor, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan who also harped on justice on the part of leaders enjoined people to as well embrace tolerance to enhance peaceful coexistence.

Also speaking,  the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi who described the man behind the centre, Barrister Raji, SAN, as an epitome of humility whose contributions to the service of Allah is immeasurable.

Earlier, the donor of the Islamic Centre,  Barrister Ahmed Raji, SAN who dedicated it to his mother said the centre, which comprises a mosque, library,  and office complexes would also serve as an avenue to resolve through Islamic laws domestic issues like marriage, divorce and inheritance.

The inauguration of the Islamic Centre was attended by prominent Muslim scholars, monarchs, politicians and members of the bar and the bench.
