Associates, Friends, NUJ Bid Farewell To Late Amosu

Friends, Associates and Members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ogun state council have paid their last respect to their departed leader, Mr Soji Amosu who died on Sunday at the age of 53 during a brief illness.

Those who witnessed the lying-in-state held at the Iwe Iroyin, Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta, Secretariat of the NUJ described the deceased as a selfless and professional leader.

A board member of Ogun state Television, OGTV, Elder Wale Idowu who said the late Soji Amosu worked with him at the National Orientation Agency, NOA, noted that he was trustworthy and passionate while describing his death as devastating.

Also, the Acting General Manager, Ogun State Television, OGTV,  Mr Tunde Kazeem said the contributions of late Amosu to the development of NUJ in the state was commendable, stating that his footprints would remain indelible.

In a contribution, The General Manager, Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, Mrs Funmi Wakama described the deceased as a consummate professional who would be greatly missed.

Special Adviser to the Ogun state Governor on Communications, Pastor Remmy Hassan said the late Soji Amosu was a committed and visionary leader who was determined to effect positive change to the profession.

At the funeral service held at the Antioch Baptist Church, Bode Olude, Abeokuta, the Reverend Rotimi Afuape.

In a sermon entitled ” the final journey” said death was inevitable, hence the need for the living to make positive contributions to the society.

A son of the deceased, Dr Opeyemi Amosu described his father as God’s gift wrapped in a humble, selfless, committed and resolute creature.

The remains of the deceased were thereafter interred at his Bode Olude, Abeokuta residence.
