Ogun state police command has arrested a seventy eight year old man, Moshood Habibu for hacking his ninety four year old brother to death over land matter.
A statement by the command spokesman Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi explained that the suspect was arrested after report by the son of the deceased Salisu Surakatu, that the suspect came to the deceased house at Kara Ewumi village Mowe and matcheted him to death over a disagreement on land matter.
The police command spokesman said the suspect claimed that the deceased sold a plot from their family land and did not give him his own share of the proceeds stating that he went there to demand for his share which led to argument between them.
He said investigation had revealed that the suspect went to the deceased house who is visually impaired, armed with cutlass.
Meanwhile, the Ogun state commissioner of police, Mr. Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to homicide section of the state criminal investigation department for further investigation and prosecution.
