Governor Abiodun who called for a full investigation said that both Federal and State Fire trucks were also damaged by the hoodlums who prevented fire trucks and men of Transport Enforcement and Compliance Agency from sealing off the area and protecting the tanker.

While describing the loss of lives as unfortunate, Governor Abiodun directed the Ogun State Commissioner for Special Duties to take inventory of all goods lost, promising to provide palliatives for the victims.
