Operatives of Ogun state Police Command have arrested three suspected members of a cult group for allegedly terrorizing Abeokuta.

The suspects, Abdul Jelili, Oluwatosin Olanrewaju and Yussuf Odesanya were apprehended while trying to force their way into the venue of an event organized by graduating students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Ojere Abeokuta.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the arrest of the three suspects in a statement in Abeokuta.

Mr. Oyeyemi explained that two locally made pistols loaded with live cartridge were found on the suspects when a search was conducted on those

those coming to attend the sign out Programme at Olusegun Obasanjo presidential Library. 

The command’s spokesman said investigation revealed that the suspects were not from any institution but hoodlums that had been allegedly disturbing the peace of Abeokuta in recent time. 

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspects be transferred to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation.
