There was pandemonium in the Igbaye Community of Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State as a man was shot dead in free-for-all during a carnival.

It was gathered that the event which took place in a popular space in the community was attended by two warring factions.

It was learnt that the DJ was playing music which one of the factions considered to be demeaning and offensive and was forced to stop the music but the other factions objected.

The matter resulted in a brawl and free-for-all as a yet-to-be-identified man shot one member of the rival group dead.

A resident who simply identified herself as Shade told Radio Nigeria that the cause of the fight was a result of in-fighting over the kingship stool of the town.

The spokesperson of Osun State Police Command, Mrs Yemisi Opalola who confirmed that there was fighting at the carnival explained that security operatives had been deployed to the scene.

Mrs Opalola, however, refused to comment on the number of casualties.
