For the citizens to enjoy dividends of democracy Nigerian leaders must always exhibit the spirit of selflessness and prioritize good governance.

Vicar and Archdeacon, St Paul’s Anglican Church, Odo Ona, Apata Ibadan, Venerable Dr Adeyemi Jesulola made this known while featuring on Straight Talk, an interview programme on Premier 93.5FM.

Venerable Jesulola said the country is blessed with both natural and human resources which are pivotal to development, but it needs good leadership to make its potentials a reality.

He also identified lack of patriotism as a fundamental problem affecting both the leaders and the led, hence calling for value reorientation and commitment to nation-building among Nigerians.

Venerable Jesulola used the opportunity of the season to advocate the need to address persistent brain drain and the increase in the number of people seeking greener pastures abroad.

He called for reconciliation and peaceful coexistence in the country.

The cleric urged Christians not just to merry with the vulnerable and the less-privileged, but also preach to them the reason behind the love which is the birth of Jesus Christ.
