The President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Dr Israel Akanji and the entire Baptist family in Africa have commiserated with the Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, and the people of Ogbomoso, over the death of the former governor of the state.

In a statement, the public relations officer, Nigerian Baptist Convention and the All African Baptist Fellowship, Eben Durodola, said the news of the death of the former governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, came as a shock.

It noted that the deceased lived a fulfilled life and achieved much in the areas of politics, charity, personal influence and missions.

The statement said, the Late Chief Alao-Akala would be remembered for his doggedness and zeal he exhibited towards the spread and expansion of the gospel of Jesus Christ, during his lifetime,’’ he assisted many people to rise in life and was well-loved by his people and Nigeria at large, the Nigerian Baptist Convention will miss a great gem, philanthropist, and a very important personality’’.

The Christian body prayed that God would console the family and everybody he left behind.
