Oyo State House of Assembly, OYHA, has eulogized the life and times of prominent indigenes and monarchs in the state that died recently.

In its first plenary in 2022 presided over by the speaker, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin, the lawmakers took turns to pay tribute to the departed souls.

They described the monarchs as traditional institutions who had a passion for the development of the state.

Also speaking on the personality of late Otunba Christopher Alao-Akala, the lawmaker representing Ogbomoso North constituency, Mrs Olawumi Oladeji described the former governor as a formidable politician and mentor.

In the meantime, the House also deliberated on the circumstances surrounding the alleged killing of a boy, Peter Okafor at Mokola last year.

It however resolved that the House Committee on Security Matters look into ways at ensuring the remains of the victim were released to the family for burial.

It also recommended compensation and empowerment for the family of the victims.

In a short charge to the lawmakers, the speaker urged them to double up their efforts in order to accomplish and complete more legislative duties and oversight functions this year.
