As part of efforts in achieving its vision, the Nigeria Airforce is seeking the collaboration of the Osun State government concerning its Research and Development Centre being built in the state.

The centre is to carry out research into manned and unmanned aircraft, missiles, rockets and other war items.

The Principal Director, Airforce Research and Development Centre, Kaduna, Air Vice-Marshal Moses Onilede stated this during a courtesy visit to Osun State governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola at the state Government House, Osogbo.

While expressing appreciation to Governor Oyetola for allocating land to the centre, Air Vice Marshall Onilede said the centre would contribute to the socio-economic development and already established security architecture of the state.

Air Vice-Marshal Onilede explained that the centre’s temporary site in Kaduna could no longer support its goals hence the need to shift to Osun State considering the state’s peaceful nature and development.

Responding, Governor Oyetola expressed the state’s readiness to support the Airforce Research and Development Centre as its presence in the state would help the state’s ambition of having a functional airport.

Governor Oyetola expressed optimism that the collaboration between the centre and the state would help in resuscitating the Nigerian Machine Tools, Osogbo.
