An Akure-based medical expert, Dr Olufemi Aina says efforts to control leprosy in society is being thwarted by stigmatisation and discrimination against people living with the disease and their families.

Dr Aina who is also the Ondo State Programmes Manager for Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Buruli Ulcer Control Program handed down this position in Akure while speaking on this year’s World Leprosy Day.
