A giant elephant was on Monday sighted roaming the forest in a boundary community between Oke Ogun in Oyo State and Kwara state

It was sighted by farmers in Gobo who were clearing land in preparation for the next planting season.

Gobo also shares boundaries with the Benin Republic.

Villagers said they had been seeing the animal around in the last three months.

A farmer, Adesope Habeeb Olamide told National Insight that the elephant was likely to have strayed from the Benin Republic or another neighbouring country.
