Three persons have been presumed dead and one injured in multiple car crashes that occurred on Lagos Ibadan expressway.

The Ogun State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Mr Ahmed Umar said in a statement in Abeokuta that the crash occurred around twenty-two minutes past five in the morning.

Mr Umar said the fatal crash involved IVECO TRUCK marked SSU517XA, a MAN DIESEL CONTAINER with registration number T- 8493LA  while 2 other vehicles involved in the auto crash had no registration numbers.

He explained that a total of 9 persons were involved in the crash and all-male adults, one person was injured, and three persons died from the crash while others escaped unhurt.

Attributing the suspected cause of the multiple crashes to excess speeding, Mr Umar said the injured victim refused to be taken to hospital for medical attention while the bodies of the dead had been deposited at the morgue of a private hospital in the area.

He reminded motorists to exercise caution and adhere strictly to the speed limit as well as ensure the use of common sense when visibility is poor.
