Former Senator Ademola Adeleke was on Tuesday declared winner of the governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State. Adeleke who is an uncle to Music star, Davido, is set to represent the PDP in the keenly contested guber elections against the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives.

Senator Ademola Adeleke has been declared winner of the Osun State’s Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governorship primary election held at the Osogbo City stadium.
This is as Prince Dotun Babayemi emerged winner of a parallel exercise held at the WOCDIF centre also in the state capital.
Declaring the result of the exercise held at the stadium, Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, who led the party’s national congress committee, Senator Lawrence Ewurujakpo said Senator Ademola polled 1887 votes to emerged winner, while Mr Sanya Omirin scored 04 votes.
He added that Mr Dele Adeleke has one votes, Dotun Babayemi 0 votes, Akin Ogunbiyi 0 votes, Fatai Akinbade 0 votes and 24 votes were invalid.
He said any other primary held outside the one conducted at the stadium was invalid.
Announcing the result of the parallel primary held at WOCDIF event center, the Chief Returning Officer, Mr Adelani Ajanaku said Dr Dotun Babayemi polled 1,781 votes and Mr Sanya Omirin, 16 votes.
He also announced that Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi polled 23 votes, Alhaji Fatai Akinbabe 28 and Mr Dele Adeleke ganered 32 votes.
The primary which held at Osogbo city stadium which produced Senator Ademola Adeleke had in attendance PDP chieftains including former national Secretary of the party, Professor Wale Oladipo, former Deputy spokesperson Mr Diran Odeyemi, tow members of the House of Representatives Mr Wole Oke and Mr Bamidele Salam as well as Former Party chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa.
Similarly, the parallel primary that produced Dr Babayemi had in attendance former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, his deputy Erelu Olusola Obada, member of the PDP Board of Trustees, Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun among others.
