Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, CIIN, Oyo State has inaugurated its new executive members.

The institute at its annual investiture and award presentation held in Ibadan inaugurated Mr Oladeji Akinola as the chairman and eight others as executive members who are to steer the affairs of the institute for another year.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Akinola promised to consolidate the achievements of the past administrations as well as to begin the process of constructing a permanent secretariat for Oyo State CIIN.

Mr Akinola said the new executive would prioritize the training of members and insurance students for them to be more professional and certified.

In an address, an insurance broker and patron of the institute, Chief Babajide Olatunde-Agbeja appealed to insurance managers to go by the dictates of the policy and adequately pay claims to their clients who suffer any loss.

Chief Agbeja cautioned insurance brokers against dishonesty and lack of trust but urged them to keep to the promises agreed with the clients.

Earlier, the Chairman on the occasion, former deputy governor of Oyo State, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, represented by Chief Alani Olojede, highlighted the need for Nigerians to imbibe the culture of taking out insurance policies.

The highlight of the event which was well attended by insurance professionals across Oyo State was the presentation of awards to the institutes’ outstanding members and members of the society who have distinguished themselves in their chosen careers.
