Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde says his administration will continue to fulfil its mandate to the people of the state.

He said this while inaugurating the newly rehabilitated 5.25km Gedu- Oroki- Sabo-Ashipa road in Oyo town.

Governor Makinde said part of the mandate of his administration is to stem rural-urban migration by ensuring a good road network and interconnectivity outside the Ibadan zone.

He said his government had been able to construct over 550 kilometres of roads “both completed and ongoing in less than three years.

Governor Makinde added that his administration had raised the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state by a record N15 billion in 2 years.

Speaking at the event, Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, lauded Gov Makinde for executing people-oriented programmes.

Senator Mohammed urged his Oyo State counterpart to keep on building on the good projects so that the people of Oyo State would continue to feel the impact of good governance.

In his remarks, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola, appreciated Makinde for his passion to develop the state and for running an inclusive government.

The Alaafin of Oyo who spoke through the Chairman Oyo Metropolitan Development Association, Chief Ayo Ladigbolu, implored his subjects to support Makinde’s government by paying their taxes and levies.
