A tanker, fully loaded with petrol has spilt its contents at Dangote Area, Idigba-Ilora along Oyo – Ibadan Expressway, exposing residents and motorists to danger.
Radio Nigeria gathered that the driver of the vehicle who was injured in the crash which occurred early on Friday morning as he was trying to link the expressway, has been rushed to the hospital.
Some people, particularly commercial motorcyclists have besieged the spot, scooping fuel and disturbing men of the Oyo State Fire Service rendering safety precautionary duties.
A senior fire officer, Mr Johnson Odewabi who spoke with our correspondent at the scene said people were risking their lives scooping the spilt fuel without any regard for safety precautions.
No security agent was sighted at the spot at the time of filing this report.
However, the Divisional Police Officer, D.P.O, Ilora Division, Mr Philip Abayomi who spoke with our correspondent on phone said his men would soon arrive at the scene.
