Olubadan Cancels Appointment of Jagun…Alleges Administrative Error

Following the controversies trailing the appointment of Jagun in the two ruling lines of Olubadan chieftaincy title, the three letters which emanated from the Palace have been cancelled.

The three letters, two for Jagun Balogun and one for Jagun Olubadan were issued in error as only two vacancies exist in each of the two lines of Olubadan and Balogun.

This is contained in a statement by the media aide to Olubadan of Ibadanland, Mr Dele Ogunsola.

The statement notes that Oba Lekan Balogun said the development was due to administrative errors and in order to correct the errors, the letters had been withdrawn.

Oba Balogun however assured the prospective Jaguns to see the development as a temporary measure and not the end of the road, stressing that the vacancies are still there and would be filled in due course.

He enjoined them to remain calm while the errors are corrected with a promise that the cancellation would not amount to denial.
