Media professionals in Oyo State have been enjoined to contribute towards the development of the state through the reportage of balanced and accurate information.

The 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Olalekan Balogun gave the advice while receiving the management team of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, who were on a courtesy visit to the Alarere Palace of the new Olubadan.

Addressing FRCN management on behalf of the monarch, the Special Adviser to the Olubadan on Media, Mr Oladele Ogunsola, said the media played crucial roles in the society, hence the need for accurate, balanced, objective and unbiased reportage of community issues.

While commending FRCN for professionalism and up to date coverage of the Olubadan transition process, Oba Balogun urged the station to continue to set the pace for other media organizations in the state.

Earlier, the Zonal Director, FRCN Ibadan Zonal Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph, said the visit was to officially congratulate the new monarch in line with the earlier directive by the Director-General of FRCN on the coverage mandate of the 42nd Olubadan.

Mrs Joseph, who said the visit was a fruitful venture, said Radio Nigeria would continue to live up to its vision of uplifting the people and uniting the nation.
