Easter: We’ve taken proactive steps to boost security – Delta NSCDC Boss
The Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, says the force has deployed over two thousand personnel across the twenty-five local government areas to maintain the peace during the Easter celebration.
This was contained in a press release on the modalities for a peaceful Easter festivity in the area, which is signed by the Command Public Relations Officer, DSC Emeka Okwechime.
The statement notes that the order by the State Commandant of NSCDC, Mr Iskilu Akinsanya, was a proactive step to sustain the peaceful environment in the state, and in line with the mandate of the Corps to protect lives, property and critical national infrastructure.
The statement points out that a total of two thousand four hundred and eighteen officers, were drafted into the tactical squad, the anti-vandal unit and counterterrorism units.
Others are the Rapid Response Unit and men from the Department of Intelligence and Investigation.
It urges the Commanders of the area commands and divisions in the three senatorial districts of the state to supervise the mission in accordance with best global practices.
