The Local Organizing Committee for the 2022 National Sports Festival, NSF, scheduled to hold in Delta State, has pledged speedy completion all sporting infrastructure in Asaba and environs where the games will be hosted.

This was made known in Asaba, the state capital during an inspection of facilities earmarked for the hosting of the event.

The leader of the assessment team, Chief Solomon Ogba, stated there would be a renovation of the hostels and the perfection of electrical and water systems at designated camps where the participating athletes from across the nation would be accommodated.

Chief Ogba listed other measures adopted for the games to include the provision of makeshift toilets for spectators.

Other delegates in the inspection team include the former Director General, Delta State Sports Commission, Chief Victor Onogagamue and the current DG, Mr Chris Anazia.

The locations visited during the tour include: The Tennis Club and facilities at St. Bridget’s College, both in Asaba and sporting venues at Ogwashi-Uku Polytechnic in Ogwashi-Uku.

It would be recalled that Delta State governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has promised that the 21st National Sports Festival which will hold between November 2 and 15, 2022, will be an event that will make every participant, including athletes, coaches, accompanying officials and journalists proud of the state at its conclusion.
