Oyo State Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Reverend Samson Ajetomobi has counselled Nigerians to vote for individuals with good antecedents rather than allowing party affiliations to influence their voting exercises.

Reverend Ajetomobi gave the advice while featuring on Straight Talk, an interview programme on Radio Nigeria’s Premier 93.5 FM.

The cleric also cautioned against campaigns of calumny and violence before, during and after the general election, urging everyone to embrace idea-oriented campaigns

Speaking on the state of the nation, Reverend Ajetomobi said though the country has over the years been confronted with serious challenges, there was still hope for Nigeria.

The PFN chairman said he believed in the Nigerian project, expressing hope of restoration and a new Nigeria.

He explained that leadership had become a global challenge in all spheres of life, with many people lacking leadership discipline, ethics and vision.

Rev Ajetomobi suggested proper leadership training for every prospective leader, which he said should start from home, schools and religious gatherings.

The cleric, who identified poor upbringing, lack of value system and principles as well as wrong intent before marriage as some of the causes of domestic violence in marriage, counselled people not to abuse the marriage institution, pointing out that it was created by God for his glory
